Case Analysis -The National Monitoring Network for Atmospheric Particulates Indicators - Photochemical Assessment

FPI has contributed to a national monitoring network construction for particulate matter and photochemical components. It is a significant project for managing PM2.5 and O3 by integrating information from all sides, including the conditions and the major culprits of pollution. The major equipment applied in this project are:

2. Ambient Metal Analyzer: FPI’s pioneer equipment that integrates X-ray fluorescence for metal (up to 30 elements) analysis and a beta-ray attenuation model for particulate mass monitoring.

The monitoring sites extend to 12 points in 28 cities in China, with a series of advanced monitoring equipment put into effect. The 200 stations, 1 

mobile monitoring vehicle, and 1 digital platform are all controlled by 10 people, realizing ultra-efficient management. The solution helps many 

cities to cut down the pollutant concentration by about 10%, improving the air quality in many cities.
